21st Century Leadership: Developing Others
TMA World’s 21st Century Leadership Series is a set of dynamic and experiential programmes aimed at providing managers with the strategies, skills and tools needed to build personal, team and organizational success. The series is split into three core learning ‘zones’:
- Zone 1: Developing Myself
- Zone 2: Developing Others
- Zone 3: Developing Teams
Participants may attend the entire set of programmes or select those that fit most closely to their development needs.
Zone 2: Developing Others
The Developing Others programme is a 2 day interactive and experiential workshop with an optional 1 day follow-up aimed at enabling managers to grow individuals in their team through trust-based relationships and relevant development plans. Not surprisingly, people management has become a needed core competence for all business leaders. Each leader is responsible for developing his or her people to the highest level of performance – often higher than individuals themselves thought possible.

Methods
There are two parts to the Developing Others programme. The first is a 2 day workshop aimed at developing high levels of competence in people management and coaching. At the end of the workshop, participants will have produced development plans for their direct reports. After the workshop, these plans are implemented
The optional 1 day follow-up session is for sharing and analysing the results of the implementation phase, and planning for ongoing development of participants’ direct reports. Before attending this session, participants will create a short presentation on what happened during and after the implementation of their individual development plans. This will be presented to the group, and, together with the TMA World facilitator, participants will act as consultants to each other in managing their most difficult people development challenges.
